The client Odgers Berndtson briefed us on producing 2 concepts consisting of a front cover and editorial design concepts for their forthcoming “Gender Diversity in the Life Sciences Industry” report.

 

Researching gender symbols as the catalyst of the design concept, although I felt there was something missing. Continuing the research I found inspiration in the client's logo a square missing from a block of 5 x 5 squares. With this I developed [InDesign] randomly angled mosaic squares with different blending and transparency properties to define the gender symbols. Using an abstract image of a woman with colour blends [Photoshop] then overlaying gender symbols plus a modern font completed the front cover design. The gender symbol, colour palette (clients colour branding) and design style was translated over the chapter and subsequent [InDesign] editorial pages.
